hacscwmp - TR-069-based Terminal Management Solution
hacscwmp is a B2B terminal management solution (ACS) based on TR-069 and operated through Gloovir. TR-069 is a Broadband Forum technology.
The HACS system is specifically designed for educational institutions and is currently being developed to support terminal management for Chromebooks.
The managed devices in educational institutions use the CEU (Chrome Education Upgrade) program.
The hacscwmp solution fulfills the following requirements for managing Chromebook devices:
- Retrieve and transmit terminal resource usage information to the server (CPU, memory, storage usage)
- Retrieve and transmit a list of installed apps on the device to the ACS server
To achieve these requirements, hacscwmp acts as a CWMP client to communicate with the ACS server. It establishes periodic server connections, retrieves terminal resource information (CPU, memory, storage), collects information about installed Chrome web apps on the device, and transmits the information to the ACS server using REST API.
The ACS server processes and stores the collected status information from the devices. Administrators can access comprehensive statistics for all devices, as well as individual device status and cumulative statistics. This allows administrators to identify and address issues based on the collected device information.
